An outspoken priest of the St. Paul-Minneapolis archdiocese has called for the resignation of Archbishop John Nienstedt.
Father Patrick Kennedy complained of "a pall over the archdiocese that is affecting the ministry we are trying to be about." In his parish bulletin he wrote that the archbishop's resignation could bring a "collective sigh of relief" to the faithful of the Minnesota archdiocese.

These sex abuse scandals happened during the watch of Archbishops Flynn, Roach, Shannon and problaby others before Nienstedt came to the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis. Yet Rev. Kennedy wants to blame Nienstedt. There's more to this than meets the eye. There is an agenda to purge the Archdiocese of anyone orthodox. Kennedy would never have written what he did in the St. Olaf bulletin if Flynn were still the Archbishop. Ask Fr. Robert Altier!

Big deal. He was pastor of Pax Christi Parish, which is as bad as its organizational namesake. He's now pastor of St Olaf in downtown Mpls, which is not something I would have done with a guy like that. In other words, his calling for the Archbishop to resign has about as much news value as "Dog bites man."
