Comedian Bob Newhart has backed out of a scheduled appearance before a group of Catholic businessmen, under heavy pressure from militant homosexual groups.
Newhart had been scheduled to address a meeting of Legatus, an organization of faithful Catholic corporate leaders. He withdrew after the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination characterized Legatus as “a rabid anti-LGBT organization.”

I always had great respect for Bob Newhart, but no longer. It takes real character to stand up to these sodomite thugs and to resist their fascist tactics, but clearly Newhart is sorely lacking in that department.

I agree with the posts and would like to start an organization that will spread the truth about these homosexual groups that use terror tactics to suppress the free speech of so many people. It's time that we as Catholics take these hate groups to task.

Defender is correct, and Bob Newhart should know better. GLAAD is the truly rabid organization, and will continue its attacks on Catholic organizations as long as we allow them to. It is amazing how this wrong-headed minority has taken hold of the American heart, and twisted it. We MUST hold to unchanging Truth, and proclaim lovingly, but forcefully, that same-sex attraction is disordered, and acting on it, sinful.

For a longtime Catholic, Newhart needs to get a backbone. What he is really afraid of is he will be censored and taken off the air by his "tolerant" gay Hollywood types. It is a shame that Catholics do not stand up and be counted.

Well, they'll characterize all Catholic organizations as "rabid anti-LGBT" because we won't cowtow to their immoral practices. Too bad Bob doesn't have more backbone; I recall that he is a Catholic.

One of these days, people and groups are going to say they've had enough of this crowd and tell them to take a flying leap. They've obviously got money and an audience but they have nothing else.
