2 Christian pastors murdered in Kenya

October 22, 2013

Two Protestant pastors were murdered in Kenya during the October 19-20 weekend, Agence France-Press reported.

Charles Matole was found shot in the head as he was “sitting on a chair with a Bible on his lap,” a church choir member said. Matole was pastor of a church in Mombasa, Kenya’s second-largest city and site of the October 3 murder of a Muslim cleric.

Ebrahim Kidata, a Pentecostal pastor in Kilifi, a resort town of 50,000, was the victim of apparent strangulation.

The nation of 43 million is approximately 45% Protestant, 30% Catholic, and 10% Muslim.
