August 14, 2013
The Vatican has published the full text of the meditation that Cardinal Prosper Grech, an 87-year-old biblical scholar, preached to the cardinal electors before they elected Pope Francis.
According to excerpts published by Sandro Magister of L’Espresso, Cardinal Grech focused on ten points, including “the Gospel without compromise,” “the smoke of Satan,” and “that little remnant which does not bend the knee to Baal.”
