Australian police official delayed action on abuse reports against Church

Charges of sexual abuse by Catholic priests sat on the desk of a top-ranking Australian police official for months, a government investigating panel has been told.
A regional police director said that she was “waiting for more information” before pursuing the complaints, deciding which local bureau would be best suited for the probe.
