New Orleans archbishop dismayed by crimes inside churches
March 26, 2013
Archbishop Gregory Aymond of New Orleans has expressed dismay and disbelief at a spate of crimes taking place inside churches.
The archbishop said that he was “blown away” by reports that a woman had been robbed, and a priest beaten by a crowbar, in separate criminal incidents. “My reaction is one of sadness,” he said, noting that a church should be recognized as “a sacred place.”
