Australian cardinal encourages Vatican to address gay-network report

Cardinal George Pell of Sydney, Australia, has encouraged Vatican press spokesmen find “some constructive way” to address reports in the Italian media about a homosexual network inside the Vatican.

The Vatican press office has declined to comment on the reports, which allege that a commission of cardinals investigating the “Vatileaks” scandal reported to Pope Benedict XVI that some Vatican officials may have been compromised because of their involvement in a homosexual network.
