Death and desecration after anti-nuclear demonstration

Catholic Church officials in India are protesting a “brutal and unjustified” police response to an anti-nuclear protest.
Two people were killed when police opened fire to disperse protesters who were demonstrating against a nuclear power plant in the Tamil Nadu state. Counter-protesters then desecrated a local Catholic church, apparently because most of the anti-nuclear protesters were Catholic.
