Catholic Recipe: Thin Knots
DIRECTIONS
Using mixer, cream butter, sugar, egg and flavoring till very smooth. Stir in flour and baking powder. Chill for an hour or overnight. Roll very thin on floured board. Cut in strips (use fluted-edge pastry cutter if you have one) and form into a pretzel shape, a knot. Dip in beaten egg white which has been mixed with a few drops of cream, then dip in plain sugar or crushed loaf sugar. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
