WATER, BLESSED

Besides the ordinary holy water used in the Church's liturgy, there are several other blessings of water approved by the Church. Each has a history of remarkable favors, spiritual and temporal, granted to those who use such water with faith and devotion. Among the best known are water blessed in honor of the Blessed Virgin and St. Torellus, St. Vincent Ferrer, St. Raymond Nonnatus, St. Albert, St. Ignatius Loyola, and St. Vincent de Paul.
