TITLE

In ecclesiastical law, a claim or right to possession of Church property or means of subsistence; a formal appellation, as of rank or office in the service of the Church; the basis on which a man is ordained to the priesthood, e.g., the title of poverty for a religious; the name of a diocese, parish, church, shrine, or any sacred edifice.
