SACRED HISTORY
The history of God's dealings with humanity as recorded in the Old and New Testaments. The term is sometimes used in an uncomplimentary sense to describe the Christian Gospels, which rationalist critics say are overladen with nonfactual and mythological lore that belongs to a credulous former age.
