MASS, INTRODUCTORY RITE
The ceremonies that precede the Liturgy of the Word of the Mass. They are the Antiphon at the Entrance, the Penitential Act, the Kyrie, Gloria, and Collect and serve as an opening preparation. Their purpose is to give the faithful a sense of community and dispose them spiritually for an effective participation in the Eucharistic Sacrifice.
