JOSEPH (Barsabbas)

A disciple of Jesus. It seems likely that he was one of the seventy-two disciples Luke mentioned (Luke 10:1). When the Apostles were choosing a replacement for Judas, Barsabbas and Matthias were the candidates selected. The choice was decided by lot and Matthias became the twelfth Apostle (Acts 1:23-26).
