JABAL

One of the descendants of Cain; the writer in Genesis identifies him as "the ancestor of the tent-dwellers and owners of livestock." His brother Jubal set the pattern for traveling musicians. Tubal is described as "the ancestor of metal workers." In other words, these three are credited with having a significant part in developing the social customs of the early nomads (Genesis 4:20-22).
