GOLDEN LEGEND
Called by its author, Blessed Voragine, the "Legend of the Saints." A popular collection of biographies, stories of saints, of dubious historicity but very readable as a book of devotion. The Apocryphal Gospel of Mary's Nativity, Pseudo-Matthew, and the Protoevangelium of James are usually included.
