DIVERSITY OF GRACE

Difference in degree and variety of the grace of justification among persons in God's friendship. As expressed by the Council of Trent, the measure of sanctifying grace varies in the individual person who is justified according to the measure of God's free distribution and the disposition or co-operation of the recipient (Denzinger 1529). Moreover, sanctifying grace is increased by good works. The various good works, done freely by co-operating with God's will, are rewarded by different grades of grace.
