DIOCESAN SYNOD
An assembly in each diocese, convoked by the local ordinary, of all the pastors and other diocesan and clerical religious administrators to deal with such matters as pertain to the clergy and faithful of the diocese. Diocesan synods, according to the Code of Canon Law (1918), were to be held at least once every ten years.
