DILEMMA

Choice between two alternatives that are equally inevitable or undesirable. Christ more than once faced his opponents with a dilemma, e.g., "if it is through Beelzebub that I cast out devils, through whom do your own experts cast them out? Let them be your judges, then. But if it is through the Spirit of God that I cast devils out, then know that the Kingdom of God has overtaken you" (Matthew 12:27-28).
