CLOTHING OF THE DEAD
The Church's traditional description of how the dead should be clothed for burial. Bishops and priests should be attired in their ecclesiastical garb, in the liturgical vestments appropriate to their rank. Religious are to be laid out in their distinctive habits. Lay persons should be decently clothed and preferably with a crucifix or rosary in their hands.
