CHILDREN

Those who have reached the age of discretion but are not yet adolescents, and for whom there are special provisions in ecclesiastical law. In general, children are those from the age of seven, when the Sacraments of Penance and the Eucharist are to be received, to the age of fourteen, when abstinence is to be observed. Children may also receive the Sacrament of Anointing and should be confirmed.
