AMPHORA
Tall, two-handled vessel, usually of clay, for holding wine for the Eucharistic sacrifice. Those found in the catacombs were inscribed with Christian symbols. (Etym. Latin amphora, a vessel; Greek amphi, on both sides + phero, to carry.)
