Quis custodiet...

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Jun 13, 2005

Father Robert Templeton, a priest of the Newark archdiocese, has told friends that he is leaving priestly ministry, because it conflicts with his homosexual lifestyle.

This announcement would be sad, but not particularly newsworthy, except that Father Templeton:

  • Had recently been tapped by Archbishop John Myers to receive the title of Monsignor
  • Was once the secretary to then-Archbishop Theodore McCarrick,
  • and
  • Was serving as executive director for the archdiocesan office of priestly personnel.
