A personal message from Phil Lawler

By Phil Lawler ( bio - articles - email ) | Nov 07, 2005

Ordinarily when I write to CWN readers, I stick to business: commenting on the news, or pointing out new features on the CWN site. I value my privacy, so I don't often talk about my private life.

But now I'm writing about a personal matter, because frankly I could use your help.

As you probably know, I recently resigned as editor of Catholic World Report. I didn't leave because I was unhappy there; quite the contrary, I loved the work. And although it was a challenge to handle that monthly magazine and the daily deadlines for the Catholic World News site, I wasn't complaining about my workload, either.

I left the magazine because I felt compelled to take on a new project: a task that I feel sure will be the most important work of my career. And now I'm asking for your help with that project.

Please follow this link for details.

Phil adds:

My sincere gratitude to the many generous people who have already responded. Thank you!

Just to clarify: I have resigned as editor of the monthly magazine, Catholic World Report. I remain editor of this internet news service, Catholic World News.
