Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a Catholic school, has capitulated to the forces of secularism without a shot even being fired. The university said it will end the practice of Mass being said in the new dental school building, which was partially funded by state and federal money, because of the possibility of a church-state controversy.
Mind you, no protest or lawsuit had been filed, but the lawyers were so leery that they thought it was better to end the practice. Can you say, a chilling environment?
It's also another reason for Catholic institutions to avoid entanglements with (and handouts from) any government body, because when cultures collide it's Catholic belief that loses and money that wins.
