Suppose we were in a position to call Gregory's bluff in public and ask, "Name half a dozen priests and half a dozen bishops who are homosexually oriented and who exemplify this generous and faithful service, so we all know whom you're referring to and can discuss the merits of your assertion openly." Would he name the names for us? Of course not.

In a poker game with the same man, if he refused to show his cards on the grounds that "it wouldn't be opportune at the present time," how many consecutive hands would you have to lose before you became disenchanted?
