eNewsletter Subject: False human securities?

When Pope Francis gave an encouraging talk to the seminarians in Burgos, Spain, I could not help but go a little more deeply into what he meant by detaching themselves from “false human securities”. The problem is that so often this Pope seems to regard dogmatic certainty as human rigidity.

Therefore, I decided to write: Thinking it through: Francis on “false human securities. (I hope this will be the beginning of a new “Thinking it through” series, if I can wrap my poor brain around anything else. I welcome topic suggestions.)

Meanwhile, Fr. Jerry Pokorsky is never at a loss. Yesterday he posted The Bonds of Blood, which is all about human and Divine blood relationships, including ours with Christ.

Also, Phil Lawler offers perspective on God’s preparation for the coming of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Our Lady of Guadalupe: the stories behind the story, as developed in a recent and very well-researched book. (For more information arising from the same book, see also my review in February, Our Lady of Guadalupe and preparing the Americas for Christ.) This is a fascinating and faith-filled journey.
