Sometimes we need to take a breath, withdraw from all the arguments within the Church, and examine our own relationship with Christ.

That is why I wrote Spiritual Growth vs. Spiritual Consolation.

It is also good to remember the power of the sacraments to help in so many ways. See Fighting addiction with the blood of Christ: The Calix Society.

We need to develop the habit of taking such breaths in moments of recollection. But the Church is ours too, and her battles are still critical.
