Once again I am writing on Wednesday rather than Tuesday, owing to our intense programming activities yesterday. Before the end of the month, we will unveil a new approach to handling Catholic news.

One kind of news we have been living with for many decades in the Church is, sadly, bad news. Phil Lawler suggests that the whole Church needs to have a frank discussion of reality: Let’s stop pretending: something DID go wrong after Vatican II.

One of the things it has been impossible for me to do this summer is to read and review important new Catholic books. Today I salved my conscience by posting A thumbnail guide to new Catholic books so that you can choose what appeals to you.

We have just added to our library Pope Francis’ message for the World Day of Migrants on January 14, 2018: Welcoming, Protecting, Promoting and Integrating Migrants and Refugees.
