eNewsletter Subject: What's Wrong with the Pope's latest interview?

I'm on vacation at the moment, in a small "camp" on the shore of Moosehead Lake in Maine. I've got WiFi (of course), but I'm also doing only absolutely necessary work for this one week. So this Tuesday message will be abbreviated.

There is, of course, a brouhaha over Pope Francis' second “interview” with Eugenio Scalfari. I have placed interview in quotes, because this hardly qualifies as an interview. Anyway, here's our analysis, courtesy of Phil Lawler:

If the Vatican has its problems, so too does England. The Church of England has approved female bishops. And Bishop Philip Egan of Portsmouth is sounding the alarm against legalization of assisted suicide, pending in the House of Lords: 'Catastrophic Collapse' of Respect for Human Life if Assisted Suicide Legalized....
