eNewsletter Subject: Evangelization Forever!

As we approach the close of the current Year of Faith, with its focus on the New Evangelization, I pray for a deeper reflection on evangelization—not as an end but as a beginning, a fresh involvement in the mission of Christ.

One point in this reflection might be the degree to which the notion of evangelization can replace that of culture war. For example, see my latest On the Culture commentary: Evangelization: The Multitudes, not the Inner Circle.

But on this, there should be more and better things to come.

Some hay might also be made out of the new papacy, before the inevitable ending of the honeymoon. There does seem to be a definite uptick in interest. See this Catholic World News story: 'Francis effect' drawing thousands of Catholics back to churches, survey suggests....
