WIFE

A woman married to a man. Her duties and privileges are treated at length by St. Paul, who stresses the mutual responsibility of husband and wife (I Corinthians 7; Ephesians 5; Colossians 3). The Second Vatican Council developed these principles of revelation especially in the Pastoral Constitution of the Church in the Modern World (47-52).
