An angel sent by God to assure Daniel of God's protection against the Persians (Daniel 10). In the New Testament, Jude refers to the same Michael in contention with Satan (Jude 9), and in Revelation an account is given of Michael and his angels driving Satan out of heaven (Revelation 12:7-9).
