GERSHOM
A son of Moses and Zipporah who was born during the period Moses sojourned in Midianite territory after fleeing from Pharaoh (Exodus 2:21-22). The name Gershom means "exile" or "stranger," which was appropriate because Moses observed ruefully, "I am a stranger in a foreign land."
