BOOK OF KELLS
An ornamented manuscript of the Latin Gospels, found in the ancient monastery of Kells in Ireland. It was probably written during the eighth century. It is presently treasured in the library of Trinity College in Dublin. It is regarded as one of the finest examples of Celtic illumination.
