The bull of Pope Pius VI, in 1794, that condemned eighty-five propositions of the Italian Jansenist Synod of Pistoia, led by the Bishop Scipione de'Ricci (1741-1810). Among other views condemned was the theory that national councils of bishops have binding power independent of the Holy See.
