ACTION
In philosophy, the opposite of passion. It is an accident by which a cause is actually producing an effect. When the effect is outside the agent, such as speech or writing, the action is transient. When the effect remains within the producing agent, such as thinking or growing, it is an immanent action. (Etym. Latin actio, a doing, performing, action.)
