Pope lauds new Polish documentary on John Paul II
CWN - April 11, 2011
Pope Benedict XVI described his predecessor, Pope John Paul II, as "a great mystic and apostle," after viewing a Polish documentary on the late Pontiff.
On April 9, the Holy Father saw a screening of "Pilgrim in White," a film by director Jaropslaw Szmidt. The film--which shows dramatic episodes from the pontificate of John Paul II, with commentary from various experts--is "one of the the most valid contributions offered to the public on the occasion of my beloved predecessor's upcoming beatification," said Pope Benedict.
The Pope said that the life of John Paul II was characterized by two constants: "prayer and missionary zeal."
