Pope will make TV appearance on Good Friday
March 08, 2011
Pope Benedict XVI will set a new precedent with a television appearance on Good Friday, April 22.
The Holy Father will answer three questions, chosen from among public submissions, in a program called “In His Image,” broadcast by the Italian RAI network. The Pope will accept questions about the person of Jesus Christ.
The afternoon show will be pre-recorded at the Vatican’s own television studio. This will be the first appearance by a Roman Pontiff on a regularly scheduled television show. Pope John Paul II did call in to a program on the same RAI network in 1998.
