US bishops award additional grants to Haiti

July 26, 2010

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Subcommittee on the Church in Latin America has recently awarded $212,700 in grants to ten projects in Haiti. The January 12 earthquake there killed some 230,000 people and left a million homeless.

Among the projects funded were evangelization programs, seminarian education, and the purchase of a truck to remove rubble from destroyed parishes.
