A brighter view of orphanages

With countless thousands of Haitian children suddenly facing life without parents, it's some comfort to hear that-- contrary to a widespread impression-- orphanages can provide excellent care and training for young children. That's the conclusion of economist Richard McKenzie, who was raised in an orphanage himself and has studied the institutions.
