Vatican ‘foreign minister,’ Swedish cabinet official discuss climate change

Swedish Environment Minister Andreas Calgren met in Rome yesterday with Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with States, to discuss the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. Echoing statements by Pope Benedict, Mr. Calgren, a Catholic, said that he hoped that the conference would promote the development of poor nations adversely affected by climate change.
