Vandalism at mission church where St. Junípero Serra is buried

On the night of September 26, vandals scaled a wall at the California mission church where St. Junípero Serra is buried, toppled a statue of the saint, and overturned cemetery headstones.
The words “saint of genocide” were found written on a stone at San Carlos Borroméo de Carmelo Mission, according to a local media report.
