East Timor signs diplomatic accord with Holy See

The Vatican has signed a diplomatic agreement with East Timor, establishing the juridical status of the Church in that country.
Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who is in East Timor for celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the country’s evangelization, signed the accord, along with East Timor’s Prime Minister Ruie Maria de Araujo, on August 14.
