Lesbian principal will retain post at German Catholic elementary school

The head of a German elementary school run by the Catholic Church will retain her position, despite having registered a civil union with her lesbian partner.
The Bavarian school, administered by Caritas, the Catholic charity, had announced the termination of the woman’s contract, effective July 31. But as a new labor law entered into force in Germany, barring discrimination against homosexuals, the decision was reversed.
