Syrian Islamic leader asks the world: stop sending weapons
March 19, 2014
Syria’s top Sunni Muslim leader has asked world leaders to stop the flow of weapons into his country.
Grand Mufti Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassoun told the ANSA news service that “the international community must stop sending weapons to Syria.”
''Weapons will not improve the situation and the worst thing is that Europe has not understood what is happening in our country,” the Islamic leader said. The only realistic prospects for peace will come through dialogue, he said.
