Raiders attack Nigerian Christian villages
November 18, 2013
Two largely Christian villages near the central Nigerian city of Jos have recently suffered attacks from Muslim raiders, according to a news service that reports on the persecution of Christians.
Morning Star News reported that Muslim Fulani tribesman raided the village of Gyel on November 2. “We thank God that some vigilantes were able to rush there to assist the members of the community, and so no life was lost in the attack,” a local Protestant pastor said.
On November 4, four Christians were slain, and two were wounded, in a raid on the village of Rantis.
“These attacks are on the increase as they are being carried out against our church members almost on a daily basis, and the security personnel seem helpless in checking them,” said Dacholom Datiri, a Protestant pastor.
