Pope welcomes Knights of the Holy Sepulchre on pilgrimage to Rome

September 16, 2013

Pope Francis met on September 14 with members of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, who were on a pilgrimage to Rome for the Year of Faith.

“Your path is a part of history, in a world where boundaries are ever-expanding, the Pontiff said. He encouraged the Knights to continue their work with those in need, keeping in mind that “the profession of faith and the witness of charity are closely connected and are the strengths and qualifying aspects of your action.”

The Pope made a special note of the work that the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre have traditionally done for the needy in the Holy Land, and asked them to redouble their work for those “who are living through moments of suffering, tension, and fear, and also our Christian brothers who suffer greatly.”
