Rising number of Catholics in US Congress

Following the 2012 election, the number of Catholics in Congress will rise from 156 (29%) to 161 (30%).
56% of members of the new Congress are Protestants; 14% are Baptists, 9% are Methodists, and 8% are Presbyterians. In addition, 6% of members of the new Congress are Jews, and 3% are Mormons.
In the 113th Congress, 54% of Catholics in the House of Representatives, and 67% of Catholics in the Senate, will be Democrats.

There are, however, some serious Catholics among them. We lament the loss of good pro-lifers like Kiko Canseco, but we have a number of replacements.

This is really a bad joke about a serious topic. Most of the "Catholic" Democrats are nominal, self-described Catholics who will vote against Catholic teaching as to abortion and sodomy.

How many are really Catholic? How many are Catholic in name only. How many will vote reflecting their Catholic faith? I shutter to think about it.
