Congo’s bishops organize ‘march of hope’
August 02, 2012
The bishops of the Democratic Republic of the Congo – a nation whose wars have claimed over 5.4 million lives since 1996 – organized a “march of hope” on August 1 in support of peace and the unity of central Africa’s largest nation.
A new conflict in the eastern part of the nation, in which Rwanda has backed rebel fighters, has claimed hundreds of lives.
